Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson was a democrat, who had navigated the country through the first world war from 1914-1918, but was now facing the National Prohibition Act. In 1919, President Wilson vetoed this law, which was designed to enforce the Constitutions 18th Amendment, which was the banning of the manufacture, transportation and sale of alcohol to American citizens. However, his veto was overruled by Congress, and Prohibition continued on throughout the '20s which sparked angered protest. One law that Wilson did support was the 19th Amendment, which allowed women the right to vote.
Sadly, President Woodrow Wilson suffered from a stoke in late 1919, leaving him weak, and in pain for the last eighteen months of his term. He later passed away on February 3rd, 1924.
